 Launch of the Motorola Edge 50 Pro in India is scheduled for April 3; design and key specifications revealed

T he Motorola Edge 50 Pro will soon be available in India. The Edge 50 Pro's design, color options, and essential features were previously made public by the manufacturer. It is confirmed to be equipped with AI-backed features and will be available for purchase through Flipkart Now, Motorola has also announced the launch date of the model in the country. 

The Edge 50 Pro is expected to launch as the Motorola Edge+ (2024) in the US, while in China it may be called the Moto X50 Ultra and offer slightly different specifications. In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Motorola India confirmed that the Motorola Edge 50 Pro will launch in India on April 3. The phone has been made available for sale in the country through Flipkart, official Motorola website and other channels Retail stores. A microsite of the handset on the e-commerce site confirmed several of its features.

 The Motorola Edge 50 Pro will launch in at least three color options – black, purple, and a third cream and gray patterned option. It is confirmed to sport a 6.67-inch 1.5K curved polarized display with a 144Hz refresh rate, 2,000 nits peak brightness, HDR10+, 100 percent DCI-P3 color gamut and SGS-certified blue light protection. The front camera of the Motorola Edge 50 Pro is visible through a hole-punch slot that is centered at the top. The handset's triple rear camera system, with an LED flash unit, features an AI-backed 50-megapixel primary sensor. For security, the phone will have an in-display fingerprint sensor. 

The Motorola Edge 50 Pro display and camera are also claimed to be Pantone Validated which gives users a realistic color experience while showing accurate skin tones. The phone is also said to feature generative AI theming to help develop unique wallpapers. 

The Motorola Edge 50 Pro is confirmed to be powered by a Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 SoC. An earlier leak suggested that the phone could come with 12GB of RAM.It is said to be powered by a 4,500mAh battery that allows for both 50W wireless and 125W wired quick charging.
